Everything about Capitol Mall totally explained

Capitol Mall is a major roadway in the city of Sacramento that leads to the iconic Tower Bridge which connects Downtown Sacramento with the Yolo County city of West Sacramento. The Capitol Mall was previously also known as State Route 275, but was relinquished to the city in January 2006. A lot of the major businesses and law firms in Sacramento are located on the Capitol Mall. Located at the east end of the mall is the California State Capitol building.

100 Capitol Mall

A 242 room Embassy Suites that serves as a popular hotel for many tourists in the Sacramento area due to its proximity to Old Town, is located at 100 Capitol Mall.

400 Capitol Mall -- The Wells Fargo Center

The Wells Fargo Center, located at 400 Capitol Mall, is currently the tallest building located in Sacramento at 33 stories (30 on ground, 3 below) and 429 feet high. It won the BOMA Building of the Year award in 1994. A museum dedicated to the history of Wells Fargo in the Sacramento area is located in the ground floor lobby of the skyscraper. Il Fornaio is a popular restaurant located in the Wells Fargo Center. Price Waterhouse Coopers is a major tenant in the building.

500 Capitol Mall

500 Capitol Mall is a 24-story 433,508 square foot high-rise under construction in downtown Sacramento, California with a 10-level, 800 stall parking garage. The building will consist of a 3-story lobby, ground floor retail, office space, and a 2-level penthouse restaurant and meeting facility. The structure will have a steel frame and will feature granite with precast panels on the exterior. The project is scheduled for completion in the 1st quarter of 2009.

Public transportation

Sacramento Regional Transit (Sacramento RT) has two light rail stations located on the mall. The 7th and Capitol Station is for inbound trains only while the station at 8th and Capitol is for outbound trains. There are also bus stops located on the mall.
